Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Windows Metafile vulnerability - also called MICE - is a security vulnerability in Microsoft Windows NT-based operating systems which has been used in a variety of exploits since late December 2005. The vulnerability was first discussed in the computer security community around 26 and December 27, 2005, with the first reports of affected computers subsequently announced within 24 hours. A high-priority update to eliminate this vulnerability was made available via Windows Update on January 5, 2006. No patches are needed for Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows Millennium Edition, as they are not NT-based.
