Criminological studies have examined activities of touts popularly called 'areaboys' from the deviant perspectives but had overlooked the trend and directions of touting as a career among unemployed males and migrant youths in the corridors of road transport in Nigeria. This study therefore investigated touting as a vocation and survival strategy in Lagos state transportation corridors. It specifically examined the pull and push factors promoting touting as a career; the challenges and prospects in touting; and the economic importance of touts in Lagos metropolis.
