Blurb/Shorttext:
This book is an edited version of my M.A. (Literature) Thesis written between 2008 and 2010, at the University of Nairobi, Kenya. The original critical Thesis was submitted for an academic credit at the same university and was awarded an ‘A’ grade. Being a specialist book, it will be useful to: academicians, writers, researchers, autobiographers, biographers, Obama theorists and, indeed the general reader. The book appreciates Barack Obama’s "Dreams from My Father: A story of Race and Inheritance" as a literary autobiography. Obama’s popularity as a political leader is not in doubt. So is his oratorical prowess which has equally received global acclaim. What is not fully appreciated, however, is his literary artistry. Hence the need for this text which unmasks Obama’s literary style in his autobiography. What you are about to read is less about Mr. Obama (the world leader and the 44th president of the U.S.A) and more about Barack Obama, the literary artist. I hope the book will prove a very fulfilling journey.
