Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online.Zagarolo is a town and comune in the province of Rome, in the region of Lazio of central Italy. It has 14,620 inhabitants, a total area of 28 km2. Zagarolo borders the following municipalities: Colonna, Gallicano nel Lazio, Monte Compatri, Palestrina, Rome, San Cesareo (former frazione of Zagarolo). It is the birthplace of Goffredo Petrassi. The Tondo (as it is called by the local population) is located at the Colle del Pero hill. It is a rare example of an ancient roman Ludus (see Ludus Magnus) dated 1st century, a sort of a little amphitheatre used as a gym or training ground for gladiators (see List of Roman amphitheatres). This archeological treasure is not sufficiently, if at all, exploited by the city governament.
