Born in Stanislav, Ukrainian SSR to ethnic Russian parents, on April 22, 1952. Graduated with honors from Novibirsk State University in 1974 with a Degree in Applied Physics. Master's Degree, 1974. Doctor of Physics, 1977. Honored by Floating Point Society as its leading researcher and awarded an Honorary Degree for his discoveries, and bestowed a title of “Man of the Century.” Professional photographer, known for establishing technique, using tungsten elements in floating zone process.
