Based on the pooled resutls of two years experimentation, it is concluded that potential production and profit can be achieved by application of pendimethalin @ 0.9 kg a-1 pre-emergence + Oxadiargyl @ 90 g a-1 post-emergence at 60 DAT using spray volume of 500 litres for minimizing weed problem in onion. Application of pendimethalin @ 0.9 kg ha-1 pre-emergence as pre-emergence showed significant persistance effect up to 30 DAS, though it disappear at 60 DAS as indicated by sorghum bioassay, while cucumber bioassay did not show any significant persistent effect. There is no residual toxicity of pendimethalin @ 0.9 kg ha-1 pre-emergence + Oxadiargyl @ 90 g ha-1 post-emergence at 60 DAT, was observed after harvesting onion and it is found safe to grow graundnut, green gram, maize and ladies finger as succeding crop.
