This five-chapter book tries to elaborate on the translation strategies and procedures used by Darbandi and Davis (1984), the contemporary famous translators of “Conference of the Birds” of Attar Neishabouri. In this study, the original mystical terms and their translation counterparts were analyzed based on the map proposed by Van Doorslaer (2007). The results of the study indicate that literal translation strategy was (72.41%) the most frequently used strategy and direct transfer procedure was (68.96%), the most frequently utilized procedure. The results of this study may pave the way for future research in literary translation and help translation instructors and translation trainees as well in translation classes.
