Blurb/Shorttext:
Today’s global environment is characterized as rather dynamic as changes occur on a regular basis. The rapid pace in which emerging economic powers are developing influences the balance of power in the global environment. The rise of emerging economic powers is the main driver disturbing the supremacy of the Western civilization. The role of emerging economies in a global environment can be noticed due to the increasing presence of emerging market multinational enterprises in developed markets such as Europe and the United States. This work aims to give new insights on the competitive strength of emerging market multinational enterprises in foreign markets and their motive for FDI activity. This study focuses on strengthening existing theory by clustering available literature on multinationals with origins in emerging markets. This research aimed to provide an answer to the following central research question: “How is competitiveness of emerging market companies on foreign markets related to motives for FDI activity?”
