Women constitute about half of the Bangladesh (BD) population, their social status remains very low. Rural women belong to the most deprived section of the society facing adverse conditions. This study aims at knowing the status of woman empowerment in socio-economic condition of BD. Socio-economic condition has a clear effect on woman empowerment. Most of them are involved in household activities. So their status is lower and most of them are less accessible to all aspects of the society. Respondents have less privilege in decision making process, about 99% respondents do not get the chance to participate in society's decision making process. Sufficient food, cloths, medical and recreational facilities are absent to them. In case of choosing life partner. The study concludes that education, training and exposure to information media have the potent to increase women's empowerment. Therefore, effective initiatives undertaken by the concerned agencies such as GO and NGO in improving women's education, skill acquisition training and access to information could enhance women's empowerment in order to achieve development at all levels of the society in BD.
