The present work involves synthesis and characterization of Nanocomposite and to know the sensitivity of prepared samples for gas sensor application. Magnesium Ferrite/Anatase Titanium dioxide Nanocomposite was prepared by Chemical combustion cum wet grinding technique MgFe2O4(1-x)/TiO2(x) i.e., (0<X<1.0). Then mixed powder was annealing to a temperature of 500 C, Further these materials were used for gas sensor application. The obtained materials were characterized by XRD, PSA, SEM, UV-Visible, FTIR, and TG-DTA respectively. The gas sensor application for characterized samples have electrons as majority carriers in the conduction band of n-type semiconductor materials MgFe2O4(1-x)/Anatase TiO2(x). When exposed to the air, the atmospheric oxygen molecules are adsorbed on the surface of the material causing the depletion layer at the surface of the material. As a result the material shows high resistance when exposed to C2H5OH gas, the interaction of C2H5OH with the surface chemisorbed O2− takes place releasing electrons to the depletion layer and increasing the electrical conductance of the semiconductor decreases the resistance and improves the sensitivity for prepared samples.
