The research aims to investigate the relationship between the concept of sustainability and architectural restoration. This connection is analyzed from an historical point of view, underlining the connection and the relations which have always linked the theory of restoration with the recent sustainability. This conjectural examination will be valuable for the analysis of some cases of current study implementation, in order to analyze the associations between the dynamics of sustainability and the most contemporary ideas of historical preservation. The research ultimately aims to identify some lines of action or operational approaches for preserving the cultural heritage respecting the demands of the original architecture and material and an accurate energy management and sustainability.
