Reading is a very complex and cognitive skill. According to a research only 27.2% children of class-3 can read class-2 level text in India. In case of tribal children, the percentage is much lower. Being a part of an International Development organization named “CARE”, we tested some innovations to improve the reading skill of tribal children in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha which bore fruitful results later. There are 4 chapters in the book which describe about the strategies undertaken at different levels (Cluster, community and school) to improve the reading level of early grade children in 516 Government primary schools. The book is divided into 4 chapters. The chapters in this book are my own creation and are based on real experience. The contents of this book will be useful to all kind of readers who are associated with tribal education in any part of the world.
